Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Not treated airflow

Wow. Sorry I've got a big lag in the conversation. There are other film coefficient models besides TARP and DOE like Ceiling Diffuser that actually do take airflow volume rates into account although they don't nessesarily corrilate well with speeds...it's an assumption. Take a carefull look at the surface temperatures of your radiant surface. They must be correct for a realistic confection coefficient to be calculated by e+. When you set it up just right (which sometimes means dropping the water supply temps), you can achieve the expected surface temps and 3-4 W/m2K for the coeffs. e+'s lowtemprad models are not ideal for hanged hydronic ceilings. You'll probably have to cheat a bit to keep the limits on the thermal diffusivity for numerical stabillity. consider running at 1 minute timesteps to reduce the required mass to a minimum. There is some work on the developement front to address some of these issues.

Good luck

Try use a zone mixing object that references the same zone as source and target.

Hi everybody,

I would like to simulate a supplied airflow inside a room not treated by any system. The inlet air temperature should change simultaneously with the actual indoor air temperature. The objective is to create an air recirculation inside the room to better understand how the model is calculating the convective heat transfer coefficient. I would like to know in which way I can model this.

Thank you in advance

Mirko
