Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Tabular reports stylesheet

Andy

Thanks for sharing this, it does make the tabular reports look much better. I really like every other row in the tables having shading.

Jason,

DesignBuilder inserts the attached htmStyles.txt html code near the top of the standard html output. This simple change gives an improvement in formatting (see Sample.htm also attached) and you may find it useful as a quick starting point.

Julien's suggestion to provide basic interactivity and graphs in this output could be very useful if done well.

Jason,

The timing isn't great as I'm on vacation tonight, but when I get back I could try something.

I'm not a web designer by any means (if some are reading this conversation please come forward!) but I've got basic skills in HTML, CSS and JS/jQuery (should we end up thinking some basic interactivity and graphs would be worth it) and could mock up something. I'd suggest starting by styling the existing allsummary report to improve readability and make it a bit more "sexy", and take it from there.

Julien,

I was thinking along those same lines if we can put together a nice looking more modern style sheet for the tabular HTML file it would be nice to put into EnergyPlus, maybe as an option. We still need something to start with, any suggestions?

I think that's a really good idea, and should make it into the standard e+ package, because then you wouldn't have to tweak it after the fact, and because you can construct the HTML properly (adding tag, class and ids as needed).

I hadn't really thought about doing this before because I've been using python post processing and openstudio reporting measures to that end, but I'd certainly consider collaboration on that if there are interested parties.

Cheers,

Julien

Does anyone have a CSS style sheet to make the tabular
reports more attractive and less clunky looking?
