Heba, It's always good to provide as much information as possible about your question, so that you get the most meaningful responses. In this case, it appears that we've gone off talking about how to get average daily temperature profiles from the weather file, whereas from what you've explained below, the Daily variation sine wave amplitude refers to that of the indoor not the outdoor air temperature! Since heat transfer through the building foundation are delayed and dampened by the soil by days near the perimeter and by months further in, I would agree with the documentation that this term is not very important. However, if you're modeling a naturally ventilated basement, the indoor temperatures will fluctuate a great deal depending on the time of year, so it would be very important to get the average indoor temperatures (the 12 inputs before the Daily variation...) correct, and I would recommend strongly that you iterate between the Slab program (or whatever it's now called) and EnergyPlus. This will be my last comment on this thread, not because I'm annoyed but because I've got many other things to do!
