ÂDear supporters,
Is it possible to simulate a domestic hot water plant loop only?! Does EnergyPlus ask always to simulate an HVAC loop ?!My simulation is to investigate thermal stratification effect occurred in a water stratified tank (Master slave type electrical heaters). Thermal energy is supplied by a Hybrid Photovoltaic-Thermal (PVT) panel.ÂBest Regards,Ahmad Al-Masri,Â

Here's my customized standard reply about "typical year" weather data for international (from the US perspective:-)) locations:
There is an ASHRAE IWEC2 weather file for Heraklion (GRC_HERAKLION(AP)_167540_IW2, Lat. 35.333N, Lon. 25.183E), as well as for 22 other locations in Greece. IWEC2 (International Weather for Energy Calculations) weather files were developed in a 4-year ASHRAE project utilizing actual weather reports from thousands of stations throughout the world going back 25 years, and covers locations outside of the United States and Canada. IWEC2 is a commercial product and thus is not free.
The entire set of 3,012 IWEC2 weather files is available on a DVD from ASHRAE (see www.techstreet.com/ashrae/products/1823067) ,
Individual IWEC2 weather files are available online from White Box Technologies, Inc. in various formats (BINM for DOE-2, EPW for EnergyPlus, etc.), as well as country sets or even the entire IWEC2 collection. For a complete list of all IWEC2 stations, see www.whiteboxtechnologies.com/IWEC2_locations.txt. For details on online access to IWEC2 weather files, go to http://weather.whiteboxtechnologies.com and click on IWEC2 on the right panel.Joe
