Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Re: weather files for Turkey

I took a look at the coordinates that you gave, and noticed that Tire is  located 62 kilometers southeast inland of Izmir.  The nearest available IWEC2 weather files are Aydin 30 km due south (TUR_AYDIN_172340_IW2, 37.85N 27.85E, 55m) or the Izmir Mederes AP (TUR_IZMIR-A-MENDERES_172190_IW2, 38.292N, 27.15E, 125m)  55 km north by northwest.  Even though the Mederes airport is further away, I would recommend it because of the similarity in elevation, it's in the same valley as Tire, and the data quality is better than for Aydin.  I would not recommend Izmir Guzelyali (TUR_IZMIR-GUZELYALI_172200, 38.433N, 27.167E) because that's at the Izmir harbor on the Aegean coast.  You can use GoogleEarth or Google Maps to confirm the locations.

IWEC2 (International Weather for Energy Calculations) weather files were developed in a 4-year ASHRAE project utilizing actual weather reports from thousands of stations throughout the world going back 25 years, and covers locations outside of the United States and Canada. The entire set of 3,012 IWEC2 weather files is available on a DVD from ASHRAE here.

Individual IWEC2 weather files are available online from White Box Technologies, Inc. in various formats (BINM for DOE-2, EPW for EnergyPlus, etc.), as well as country sets or even the entire IWEC2 collection. For a complete list of all IWEC2 stations, see here . To view all  available IWEC2 stations in Google Maps, see here .

Hi Everyone,

I am looking for weather data for Tire/İzmir of which coordinates are:

38⁰05’10.71” N

27⁰43’55.68” E

Elevation 120m

Is it possible to obtain TMY file via Meteonorm? If so, I have no access to it. Could you help me please?

Thanks for your cordial help, in advance :)
