The same type of bypass is also shown for the CHW loop demand and for the HX. This is pretty common and has been standard practice for my models.

I have reported the flow in the bypass using an output:variable numerous times and have never seen non-zero flow, so I'm not sure it's necessary, but I keep it there until I'm able to do more testing or re-read the I/O Reference...
