[Equest-users] LEED Simulations

My 2 Cents,

I just filled this part out on LEED online. You have to fill out your energy
information on EAp2 the prerequisite. That's where all the information is.
It gives you a good guide on what to do. That's also where you upload your
energy model information.

Thanks,

Just to add to what Nick said - the rating authority s now the GBCI (green
building certification institute). The percentage is based on energy cost
and not energy usage - so you might benefit from peak shavings in a TOU
rate.

The rating authority for a LEED project is, essentially, USGBC - but USGBC
has more or less defined (if loosely) what is required for documentation
through the LEED EAc1 template/Handbook. You might do better to keep
section G1.4 in the back of your mind and instead refer primarily to the
current EAc1 template and associated Handbook chapter.

LEED EAc1 credits, using the first compliance (energy simulation) method,
are based on annual costs - not consumptions. I think that syncs with
90.1's current glossary terms for performance...

If attempting to show percent improvement for LEED credit per ASHRAE
90.1-2007 Appendix G, who is the "rating authority" in section G1.4? USGBC?
There will be similar documentation submitted to USGBC I know, but is there
some piece of information I am missing? Does ASHRAE "rate" building
performance based on eQuest results?

Also, second question, is percent improvement based on energy usage, or cost
of energy usage with regards to LEED?

Thanks!

Tim
