A better indication of whether you have the detached shading parameters 
correct is to look at the sunlit area or sunlit fraction of the shaded 
surface.  It should change when the surface is shaded.  Yes, the exterior 
surface temperature should change as well -- but there are other influences 
on the inside surface temperature.

For V1.0.1, the detached surface shades from "behind" itself.  Therefore, a 
south facing wall needs a "north facing" detached shade to make an 
effect.  This limitation goes away in V1.0.2 due to the addition of 
bi-directional shading devices and makes it less important to get the 
orientation of the shading devices correct.
