[EnergyPlus_Support] Problems accessing PDF files

I have just downloaded EnergyPlus, and am attempting to learn how to 
use it.  The user documentation and the readme files appear to be in 
PDF format, but Adobe 4.0 will not open them.

Did I boof something during installation?
