[EnergyPlus_Support] CSR Model Monthly Solar Radiation for South America

Date: 17/05/2007 11:34
TO: ray_george@xxxxxxxx

Dear Mr. Ray George

"The modeled values are accurate to approximately 10% of a true
measured value within the grid cell"

Bilinear interpolated comparisons with data from the World Radiation
Data Centre (http://wrdc-mgo.nrel.gov/), UMass Lowell Solar
Irradiation Database
(http://energy.caeds.eng.uml.edu/fpdb/Irrdata.asp) and SSE-NASA
(http://eosweb.larc.nasa.gov/) shows a systematic overestimation
greater than the stated 10% figure for the northwest Argentinean region.

Is there any simple explanation for this notable difference? (a
greater bandwidth, perhaps)

Do you think that a re-scaling to best fit the ground data could give
better estimates for usual absorbers materials?

Regards,

Horacio Luis Varela
