RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Daylighting Map: Strange dates & other related

Hi Abeer,

The illuminance map does report the year. I think the years you are
seeing are coming directly from the weather file. Remember that a TMY2
weather file is made up of "typical" months pulled from many different
years to make one "typical" year. (Someone else on the list might have
a reference for the full details on how TMY2's are prepared, or I'm sure
you could google it pretty easily.)

To verify this is the case, change the extension on your "in.epw" to
"in.csv" so that you can open it in Excel (because the weather file is
just text). The first column is the year; second is the month; third is
the day. Scroll down through several months and you should see the
years that match the dates in your illuminance maps. If not, then do
upload your files.

P

Hi Linda,
Thank you for your reply, but the illuminance map did gave me date&
time: like 01/12/1931 16:00:00, so many different years!
Thanks, Regards
Abeer

I don't know what happens if you are using a different regional date
system but the above it what the date lines in the map should look like.

You cannot get map values as annual or monthly averages. You'd need
to look up the documentation for your other question though I believe
it will be limited to the hours when the sun is up.
