1)  Not directly. The only "link" from any sort of CAD system at this point is 
to export a drawing and trace over it in one of the graphical interfaces.

2)  That depends on the types of projects you will be using EnergyPlus for.  If 
you have not reviewed the available interfaces yet, you may find a list with 
links to developed web sites at:

3)  IES has significant modeling limitations compared to EnergyPlus.  For a
