RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Report Variable Errors
Hi Linda
Thanks for that, I've fixed some of the errors. I don't have a HVAC system
in the original Ecotect model, and there is nothing to suggest to me that it
has somehow gotten into the IDF. However neither is there any reference to
purchased air. Can I paraphrase what you said below as follows: " we use
purchased air to see what the heating/cooling loads would be to achieve the
specified comfort levels, but still report actual temperatures without
HVAC"? Would this apply even though I only get cooling loads, even in
winter, when the temps are more often below the comfort levels? Can I insert
pictures into this email?
Thanks again.
Danny

For the correct variable names in your run, look at the .rdd and .mdd files.
You will need to put in a:
Report, Variable Dictionary, IDF;
command and it will produce in proper IDF form.
If you have an HVAC system, your zone temperatures should be
following the set points. If you don't have an HVAC system, then you
shouldn't be seeing cooling loads. Heat Gains and losses, yes, but
not cooling loads. Maybe you have a purchased air system? (this is
what we use to see the heating / cooling loads without restrictions
of actual HVAC systems.)
