RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Runtime: Windows vs Linux
I think it is compiler differences. The release version for Linux uses
Lahey compiler, windows version uses Intel compiler. I would suggest
getting source (collaborative developer license required) and compiling
it yourself on the machine you will use. I do this with Intel Fortran
10.1 and have observed shorter runtimes on Linux nodes compared to
windows.

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] Runtime: Windows vs Linux
In testing the recent version 2.2, it seems the runtime
discrepancy between the Windows version and the Linux version
remains. On the same hardware, I see the Windows version
running about 20% faster than Linux.
Any idea if this is a result of compiler differences?
Different compiler options? Math libraries? Any hope
of rectifying the Linux speed penalty?
We do runs by the thousands on a Linux cluster, so a 20%
improvement would make a huge difference.
