[EnergyPlus_Support] Modelling an atrium used for air extract

Dear all,

I'm using EnergyPlus to model a 7 storey office building that has a
large atrium which the main office floors open out on to. Air is
supplied to the office spaces using a VAV system (with separate air
handling units for each floor) and extracted at the top of the atrium.

Would it be reasonable to model this by setting the atrium zone to be
the return plenum for the systems supplying the office spaces?

Are there any implications to using the atrium zone as the return
plenum for more than one air handling unit?

Is there a better way to model this type of system (maybe using mixing
air flows to transfer air from the office spaces to the atrium, etc.)?

Thanks,
Andy
