Dear Chris, Thanks for suggestions! You are
quite right that the “AnnualSimulationSplitter.rb”
(by Phylroy) is a wonderful idea. Maybe I should consider incorporating the
function in jEPlus so that the split results can be merged in one CSV file. Has
anyone tested how much error this approach may cause, due to the discontinuity introduced
into annual simulation? I can imagine it would not be too bad if you don’t
split it in tens of threads. Cheers, Yi Yi Zhang IESD, De Montfort

[mailto:chris@xxxxxxxxxx] That’s good Yi. It would be
worthwhile hosting it on the Yahoo E+ support forum. There are a couple of potentially
useful utilities on there including a Ruby script that will split your
simulation period over the number of processors you have for a multicore
machine. Very good! Chris From:

On Behalf Of Yi Zhang Dear all, I meant to send this yesterday
but the clock ticked over midnight. I am dead serious: jEPlus has gone open
source (under GPLv3) and here is the proof: http://sourceforge.net/projects/jeplus/ Although EnergyPlus is now
providing a number of functions (parametric, SQL output etc) natively, I
believe there is still much jEPlus can offer. I hope turning it into a
community project will help it grow. My special thanks to Davis Marques, who
has joined the project and was the reason that this happened before Easter in
the first place. I would like to welcome more developers and users to join the
project, too. Best wishes, Yi Yi Zhang IESD, De Montfort
