Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Large Reheat Consumption During Summer

It shouldn't make any difference.

FYI, I used Edmonton weather for my run...

Would you be able to attach the results file from your simulation?

I tried simulating the file and it is working just fine, and heating energy use looks normal as well.
I used Calgary weather data. I am not sure which one you used .. I think it was edmonton .. very close though.

Hi James,

Thank you for the reply.

I have transitioned the file to v5. However I still find that I am getting the same problem as before.

I have attached to updated idf file.

Dear Langdon.

The text â??AHU HEATING COIL CONTROLLERâ?? does not appear in your IDF, so I canâ??t figure out what is referred to by the error.  In addition, the IDF is difficult to read because of the many interspersed comments.

I recommend that you begin using the newest version, so it can be opened by the IDF Editor.  Transition of your IDF to the current version is almost a one click affair!

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] Large Reheat Consumption During Summer

Hello,

I am running multiple simulations using various building configurations and I have run into the problem in my results which I can't determine the cause for.

I get low natural gas consumption in the winter months and high consumption during the summer due to the reheat system. I am using an old version of EnergyPlus which I hope is not a problem.

I do get a Severe error in my simulations which occurs multiple times:

Severe ** Controller error for controller = AHU HEATING COIL CONTROLLER
** ~~~ ** Occurrence info=EDMONTON STONY PLAIN AB CAN WYEC2-B-25145 WMO#=711230, 08/06 04:02 - 04:03
** ~~~ ** Controller function is inconsistent with user specified controller action = "" action
** ~~~ ** Actuator will be set to minimum action
** ~~~ ** Note: Chilled water coils should be reverse action and the entering chilled
** ~~~ ** water temperature should be below the setpoint
** ~~~ ** Note: Hot water coils should be normal action and the entering hot
** ~~~ ** water temperature should be above the setpoint

I have attached the simulation file I am working with and the weather file.

Thank you for your help.
