Dear E+ community,
I´m a E+ beginner but already used TRNSYS.
Could someone tell me, if it is possible to simulate a hybrid ventilation
system as combination of mechanical and natural ventilation system. My task is
to model an innovative energy-plus-school that produces more energy by
renewable energies than it consumes. I wish to do a cooling load calculation
first by using the open studio 3-D model as building input. Next step is to
simulate the described ventilation system. Both systems switch between each
other by outdoor temperature setpoint. I guess it is important to take into
account the geometry of the building/ corridor, because it is used as ductwork
(no usual ducts). Can E+ do it by AirFlowNetwork (without CFD analysis)?
Though, is it possible to build a 3D Model - and E+ understands this geometry
as resistances to the airflow...
Or would I have to do an CFD study to solve this problem? Is E+ exact enough
to do this? It´s just an energetic investigation to size the components,
because engineers understood, that sizing by peaks (after manual load
calculation) is to rude.
Sorry for bad English.
Sincerely,
Sascha
