[EnergyPlus_Support] isolation valve at the water-to-air heat pump

All,

I am trying to develop an energy efficiency measure for water source
heat pump system. This one involves the installation of VFD on the main
circulation pump which will reduce the flow rate of the water when there
is no call for cooling or heating from the heat pumps.

The only problem is that the model for this system in EnergyPlus does
not include an isolation valve, i.e. even if there is no call for
cooling or heating, the water still flows through the heatpump (through
the bypass). That means the water in the main water loop will always
flow at the design flow rate, which means the VFD in the main pump will
be useless.

Any thoughts on how I can "install" the isolation valve in EnergyPlus?

Thanks,

Ery
