All,
I have a low temperature radiant slab which is cooling my space in the winter. I checked the loads and they are reasonable against the baseline model, which is in full on heating during the same periods.
It appears that when the slab heats up to bring the space to the occupied setpoint in the morning, it gathers some thermal mass. Then the system needs to cool the slab to compensate and I end up with cooling energy being consumed in the winter. I watched the surface temp rise from 55 to 80 during the morning run up, but then it never dips back below 75, which is right at the setpoint for the space and obviously not effectively cooling.
Any nifty tricks you guys can think of around this problem?
