Miroslav,
You will still
need to consider the airflow balance between zones.
·
Zone 2
Bathrooms has a specific amount of exhaust / extract.
It must be replaced by some source of outdoor air
·
Zone 1 Science
Labs uses outdoor air and must also have that air
exhausted / extracted
That said, the
HeatExchanger:AirToAir:SensibleAndLatent does not
appear to be intended to take air from one zone for
exhaust, while supplying outdoor air to another zone.
You may want to use the ZoneMixing object any way to
accomplish most of your goals. This is an interesting
and realistic situation, but I have not attempted to
model it. It is very straightforward except for the
part about using different zones for outdoor air and
exhaust.

Thank you for the reply Linda!
I don't have air exchange between the zones, so I
think zonemixing would not work for my case.
Probably I did not explain it properly in the
first place, so I attached a simple scheme.
My system consists of:
Heat Exchanger
Heating Coil
Supply Fan
Exhaust Fan
The supply side of the system uses outside air
which is processed in heat exchanger (primary
flow) and heating coil and then fed to Zone 1
Science Labs.
The exhaust side of the system takes air from Zone
2 Bathrooms. The air goes through the heat
exchanger (secondary flow) and then it is
discharged to the outdoors.

Yes, the simplest form of this is called
"zonemixing".
Example files that come with EnergyPlus
include spreadsheets that illustrate where you
can find each object.

Dear EnergyPlus experts,
Is it possible to model a ventilation system
in EPlus, which supplies
air to one zone and extracts the same amount
of air from another zone?
Is there an example file for such case?
I have science labs zone and bathrooms zone.
The ventilation system
supplies air to the science labs and
extracts air from the bathrooms.
The science labs use separate exhaust
ventilation system.
In other words the same system serves as a
supply-only ventilation for
the science labs and exhaust-only
ventilation for the bathrooms.
Thank you!
Miroslav
