Iâ??m modeling a heat
pump that is connected with a vertical ground heat exchanger (27 boreholes,
depth 90 m) in EnergyPlus. From the datasheet I get only rated values at
standard conditions according to technical standard EN 14511. Iâ??m using the
model HeatPump:WaterToWater:EquationFit:Cooling
I read at page 628 of
the â??Input-Output Referenceâ?? that the model is relative to a â??reciprocating
compressorâ?? but the compressor that Iâ??m modeling is scroll. As
coefficients Iâ??m using default coefficients provided by DesignBuilder, a part
the coefficients A1, B1, C1, and D1 (see page 936 of EngineeringReference). In
fact, I changed the values of A1, B1, C1, and D1 in order to get Qh / Qh,ref =
1 and Powerh / Powerh,ref = 1 at the standard conditions.
I have plotted the
COPc value as â??Water to Water Heat Pump Load Side Heat Transfer Rate HEAT PUMP COOLING [W]â?? divided by â??Water to
Water Heat Pump Electric Power HEAT PUMP
COOLING [W]â??:
https://imageshack.com/i/g13tm2j
I have plotted only
points relative to conditions with â??System Node Temperature CHW LOOP SUPPLY SIDE INLET [C]â?? < â??System
Node Temperature GHE LOOP SUPPLY SIDE
OUTLET [C]â??, i.e. relative to when the heat pump transfers heat to a loop
having higher temperature.
As you can see, the
COPc values are between 6 and 10. Considering that the compressor is scroll,
are those values realistic?
With Regards
