Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Overhanging / Canopy like roof.

I'm not sure if I completely understand the differences between a shading surface and your normal roof heat transfer surface.

Is the shading caused the a normal roof transfer surface no taken into account? Is it just a heat transfer problem?

When I have the canopy with no air gap as an entire shading surface, the cooling load is a lot less than designing it the way that Karen suggested.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, what is happening in terms of heat transfer when the canopy is designed entirely as a shading surface as opposed to only designing the overhanging parts as a shading surface?
