Hi Jason,
I've found the IDD file on the Energy Plus installation folder. As you said, the software remembers that file whenever I try to open any other IDF file.
I suggest IDF+ should inform the user this issue at the first launch.Â

 Try the "New" button first. I think it will ask you to find the IDD file.
