Fair enough, but I need to add a caution that of the six "private sources" listed (although I hardly think of NCDC as "private" since it's a branch of NOAA :-)), the first three are more raw data sources, in that they do not provide weather files that can be used directly in building energy simulation programs such as EnergyPlus.

Read the Auxiliary Programs Document that comes with EnergyPlus. It describes how to make EPW files from "custom" data and there is some help available from the helpdesk once you are started.

Just for clarification: is there any reference on creating files from raw data? I mean could you please throw some light on "unless, you're familiar with processing raw weather data and have the right software, you should expect to spend many hours in getting up to speed."
