Just to add to what Jean says, some settings in the IDF data lend themselves to easy parametric variations within EnergyPlus. This approach works best when there is a single number that needs to be adjusted parametrically. A common example is the building orientation. Other variations such as WWR, overhang shading length and loading templates (e.g. connected HVAC layouts) really need to be done in an EnergyPlus GUI such as DesignBuilder where multiple changes can be made in the IDF per parametric variation. Andy Tindale From: EnergyPlus_Support@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:EnergyPlus_Support@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] DesignBuilder has both Parametric and Optimisation support and can change WWR and many more variable for such studies. It teamed up with je+ to do this. Since EnergyPlus gives the chance to make group simulations i preffered it for simulations instead of DesignBuilder, I just thought in the same way with DesignBuilder, that EnergyPlus could also give the opportunity to make variations.
