Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Processing IDF file error

You may want to delete your .err file and retry running the simulation.  It is possible that error file was carried over from a previous run.  (Happened to me several times before!!)

Hi, XingShi

Your message confirmed what I said in the other mail.

1.idf may be all right, if you do have that file, and the file and ExampleFiles directory are not read only protected..

I do not think there is 1.epw in your weatherData directory.

Therefore the simullation crashed.

If your IDF file and/or the weather file are not in the ExampleFiles  and weatherData Directory respectively, the batch file needs to be modified.

I tried that and basically got the following:

Input File: ExampleFiles\1.idf
Output Files: ExampleFiles\Outputs\
Weather Files: WeatherData\1.epw
Beging EnergyPlus Processing...
....
....
Processing Data Dictionary
Processing Input File
Reporting Surfaces
**FATAL: Error condition occured. Previous Severe Errors cause termination.

What went wrong and how to fix it?  Thanks!

suggest you take out any @echo off or comment it at the top of the runeplus batch file and see what is really executing.

If run in DOS mode, it did fail in the input processor and there was no audit file created.

I am puzzled by the fact that the same IDF file ran just fine in EP-Launch.  Is there anything with using "runeplus 1 1" in DOS mode that I am missing here?

It looks like it failed in the input processor (Fatal: " IP "). This
would be before the error file is created. See if there is an audit file
(eplusout.audit) that you can look at. I am not sure if you will find
the error at the end of this file, or somewhere in the middle.
