I am using v8.1 : could this be the difference ?
For sure, this configuration cannont be built with the version I have, it says it in the error message "--For triple glazing the between-glass shade/blind must be between the two inner glass layers". Also, I am not using Design Builder but directly from the editor.
So I would be interested to know, if you could really build such a triple glazing with your version ??
For the equivalent layer, it really does not work when they are coatings - or at least I don't have the appropriate method. I tried a glazing without coatings : No problem ! But with coatings, the resulting emissivity is too low to be real for one single layer, and to put in energyPlus. Also, the equivalent layer would not consider the very high temperature that the inner coating can reach when simulating with different air temperature or solar angle; and that affects highly the heat transmission.
So, I should try to find this v8.3 version do you recon ?
