What is your criteria for "accurate"
? Since "typical year" weather files are created from historical
weather data, it would be hard to claim that they are more
accurate than their source data. The only thing you can say is
that they aim to be more "typical" or representative of long-term
distributions. Even then, one should bear in mind how any
particular "typical year" weather file has been created. If the
climate variable of interest is not included in the selection
process, e.g., wind direction, or if the weight given to it is
low, then the selection could well be random for that variable.
Historical data on weather stations around the world are available from a number of sources.
